if you're really interested in crocheting, there are some great tutorials (videos as well as illustrated descriptions) and patterns out there on the net. it's not that hard to learn.
I was 27 when I started crocheting again after about 15 years of inactivity. had to ask my mother to show me the stitches again.
I started out with existing patterns of small and easy to do animals to get the hang of it. it helped a lot.
